Our Higher and Degree Apprenticeships in Quantity Surveying will provide you with the experience, training and support needed to become a future Quantity Surveyor. Quantity Surveyors ensure that our developments make business sense and are built efficiently and sustainably.
Quantity Surveyors oversee the commercial side of housebuilding. This includes the analysis, preparation and management of all costs, from initial build cost assessments though to site completion. You’ll also manage sub-contracts and materials required to make the build as effective as possible. You'll assist the site team in leading the development of a site from a cost perspective, and liaise with trades and costing materials and goods. All this while meeting a challenging schedule, within budget, and with a focus on quality and customers. We’re looking for switched-on, driven people who have a feel for business and want to build on our success.
During training, you'll learn best practice, regulation and everything an exceptional Quantity Surveyor needs to master. Your qualification will equip you with the latest information about planning and costing projects, as people and management skills. For a detailed overview including course length, click here.
Our apprenticeships award two industry-recognised qualifications:
You’ll start on the Higher Apprenticeship unless you already meet the criteria for a Degree Apprenticeship. We want all Apprentices to complete the Degree Apprenticeship, so if you successfully complete the Higher Apprenticeship, then you’ll be automatically enrolled onto the Degree Apprenticeship in the following academic year.
You’ll join as a Trainee Quantity Surveyor and start your journey along the commercial department career pathway from day one alongside your academic studies. Promotion in the role is based on your performance on the job, and so even before you’ve completed your degree, we’d expect you to become a qualified Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor. From there, the future is yours. We’re an ageing workforce and one of our key reasons for creating this programme is support people to become leaders of the future. That could be as a Senior Quantity Surveyor, or into a Commercial Manager or Commercial Director role.
The Professional Practice in Residential Development and Quantity Surveying Degree, which you will acquire upon completion of your Degree Apprenticeship is an accredited degree with the Chartered Institute of Builders (CIOB), the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and the Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment (CABE). If you are interested in becoming a chartered member of the CIOB, RICS or CABE following completion of your degree, we will provide support and funding in helping you achieve this accreditation.Search & apply
