That’s why we’re collaborating with Sheffield Hallam University to offer paid-for degree programmes where you can work on real projects while you study to become a future Site Manager or Quantity Surveyor. The five-year programme provides the essential combination of university learning and hands-on work that will set you up for a bright future in one of Britain’s most exciting industries. You’ll spend most of your time working on real projects, learning by doing and making a real difference for our customers. Throughout the year, in four one-week blocks, you’ll build on what you’ve learned in practice with specific university teaching to help you get your degree from Sheffield Hallam. Your technical development will be supported by a dedicated, senior mentor who will always be on-hand to provide guidance and help you apply your learning.

This programme will train you up to become a future Site Manager; making sure that our buildings get built to a high-quality and as efficiently as possible. Why do a degree?
We’re serious about training the next generation of leaders and your university learning will make sure you’re equipped to take our industry forward. The course varies depending on your programme but you’ll cover everything from management skills to construction regulation and/or buying processes to real-life case studies. This is not learning for learning’s sake. We’ve designed this course to complement what you do in your role and give you skills and knowledge that you will use for the rest of your career.
To qualify you’ll need one of the following:
- One A-Level and four GCSEs (C or above, or Grade 4-9) including Maths and English
- BTEC National Qualification
- Advanced Diploma in Construction or Built Environment
- Other access or foundation courses
Who we’re looking for
We’re looking for ambitious, driven people who can show the potential to meet high-quality standards and give customers what they need. You’ll need to demonstrate you can make the most of the education on offer as well.
More experienced entrants without formal qualifications will be considered on merit, taking into account such factors as your work experience, including skills gained from the Armed Forces, and previous qualifications.
Your personal qualities are extremely important. Our team are not one type of person. We value diversity, but we do look for candidates who can demonstrate the qualities that will help them succeed. The experience you bring could be drawn from hobbies, study, part-time work, volunteering or your personal life. As well as the ultimate head start in a competitive industry and a well-respected degree, we pay well and offer a generous, flexible reward package. You’ll be paid between £19,000 and £24,000 depending on location and experience but this is negotiable for high performers who can demonstrate previous leadership experience (such as ex-Armed Forces or career changers).
We also recognise your contribution through our awards. Examples include the highly respected NHBC Pride in the Job scheme as well as formal recognition of Individual and Team Excellence. Prizes include cash awards up to £5,000. You can also be nominated for excellent university performance.
