Intro

What kind of work do we do here?

There are three divisions in Scotland: North Scotland (Aberdeen), East Scotland (Edinburgh), West Scotland (Glasgow).

With a huge amount of diversity in our housing provision in Scotland, you’ll work on a range of different projects. Within the cities we focus on apartments, including Ocean in Aberdeen with views out across the North Sea. In East Scotland we build housing to fit in with the local architecture suitable for first-time buyers through to larger family homes. In West Scotland the focus is mainly on providing homes for first-time buyers and families in key locations throughout the West of Scotland.

We sell to a wide variety of customers in Scotland. There are a lot of first-time buyers looking to start out, families wanting to take the next step up and downsizers that are looking for a more manageable home. You’ll get to build homes and work with a range of people.

Working here

What makes Scotland an exciting place to work?

Scotland has vibrant cities, breath-taking rural areas and everything in between which means it’s a great place to live and the market is always changing so you’ll be kept on your toes. Barratt’s offices in Aberdeen are just a stone’s throw away from the award-winning 14 mile long, sandy Balmedie beach. They have every department under the same roof so you’ll really get to see everyone working together.

East Scotland is based in Edinburgh and covers down to the Scottish Borders. It is an exciting place to be in terms of housing development as demand for housing in Edinburgh and the surrounding area is high with development opportunities in abundance and supported by a buoyant property market.

Glasgow is the largest city in Scotland and is great for jobs, culture and leisure. The desire to live and work near this city creates a fast-paced working environment as we play an active role in making Glasgow an exciting place to live and work.
