What kind of work do we do here?

Barratt and David Wilson both build homes in the South Midlands, which includes Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire and Bedfordshire. The properties by both housebuilders vary from one and two bedroom apartments to five bedroom detached family homes. Properties are built in a traditional style and are designed to complement the surrounding areas, so you will have a real opportunity to build a legacy in the community and help people find a home they will love.

We build for a range of customers including young couples, families, professionals and existing home owners. We also cater for housing associations and property investors who are looking to rent out property in the future. This diversity means you’ll build skills and have opportunities that will really benefit your career.

What makes the South Midlands an exciting place to work?

Firstly, the offices of Barratt and David Wilson are just a stone’s throw away from one another in Northampton so you will get great exposure to both businesses. Due to the location of a number of developments, you will also get exposure working with other divisions on joint sites, including Eastern Counties, North Thames and BDW Cambridgeshire. 

Many areas within the region are expansion sites which means there is high demand for housing here and generally a lot of developments are large sites, which means you will also help deliver community services such as schools, community centres and retail units. This makes it a prime location to work from, with opportunities to get involved in substantial developments and there is a stable pipeline of opportunities. 

It is an exciting time to join the South Midlands area with a large number of developments currently underway and many more planned for the future. With all departments for the divisions based in Northampton, you will get to experience and understand the business in great detail and really experience the collaboration required to get our customers the homes they want.
